Surface tissue is a non-woven dispersed glass fibre. The glass fibres are bonded to one another by means of a binder compatible with polyester, epoxy and PVC resins.

Nexus gives:
* improved stress corrosion resistance
* better impact and reverse impact resistance
* greater chemical resistance (especially fuorides)
* higher winding effiency and improved quality compared to C-glass veils because Nexus is not as brittle and has a higher tensile strength.

Emulsion bound chopped strand mat is used in hand lay up applications in general moulding. It is suitable for use with polyester resin. It is ideal for applications such as fibreglass boats, construction or transport panels and recreational items such as slides.

Powder bound mat has good moldability and conform slightly better to complicated shapes than emulsion bound mats. They are recommended for use in chemical applications. Powder bound mat is suitable for use with vinyl ester and polyester resins.

Ahlstrom Combiflow is a special reinforcement which consists of three layers stitched together. Two layers of chopped glass fibre mat on the surface and a porous elastic layer in the middle provides excellent resin flow properties and good surface quality. Combiflow's binder free construction gives excellent drape-ability needed in complicated mould shapes. It is easy and quick to lay-up in the mould and wets out fast. Combiflow is an elastic, bulky material filling the mould cavity efficiently accepting variation of mould cavity thickness. Even one layer of Combiflow is enough to fill the mould cavity.

Closed moulding applications are environmentally friendly, offering clean surroundings, which is more attractive to workers.

Both surfaces are finished or smooth. Better reproducibility, wall thickness constant form part to part, etc. Possible to reach very high fibre contents, in vacuum systems up to 75%-w. Possible to include inserts.

All grades are available with chopped strand mat backing

Woven roving is ideal for hand and machine lay-up production of boats, containers, automotive parts, home furnishings, sports equipment, corrosion-resistant tanks, translucent panels, and other parts with large areas.

Significant advantages include reducing costs, contributes to end product quality. A uniform weight and construction minimise air entrapment, to produce stronger, smoother parts. An elliptical shaped strand and close weave construction offer the potential of a smoother surface finish and less weave distortion when adjusting to the mould. These products drape well, lay easily on radii and corners, conforming easily to intricate shapes and patterns. Easier to handle than other similar products, it wets out faster and more evenly to reduce fabrication time.

Carbon fibre reinforcement laminates exhibit high strength and very high modulus properties but are very susceptible to brittle failure and poor impact resistance.

Cotton flock is a micro find cotton chip which is used as a bulking filler and to enhance the impact strength of thermoset resins such as polyester, epoxy and phenolic resins.

ARG fibre is a high quality alkali resistant glass fibre, designed to reinforce cement and other alkaline matrixes. Non-combustible, corrosion resistant with a high tensile strength.

Used in architecture, civil engineering and landscaping.

H103 is softer than H200, which makes it ideal for spraying.

Aramid reinforced composites show excellent fatigue resistance and impact strength although the compressive strength is considered poor. Aramid is very sensitive to UV light with a market reduction in mechanical properties on exposure. This is not a problem in an opaque composite.

Fibreglass cloth is suitable for use with polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy resins.

Fibreglass tape is suitable for use with polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy resins.
