Nupol Composites History
- 1956 Manufacture of Polyester resins in Australia.
- 1964 Synthetic Resins commenced as a private Company, with ex. Monsanto employees to service small customers.
- 1970 Ferro commences manufacture of Gelcoats in Australia.
- 1985 Ferro acquires Synthetic Resins.
- 1986 Huntsman acquired a license from Ashland to manufacture Aropol and Hetron resins.
- 1996 Huntsman acquires Synthetic Resins from Ferro, both the distribution business and the Gelcoats manufacturing unit.
- 1996 to 2001 Huntsman’s resins business operates as a separate entity to Synthetic Resins.
- Nov. 2001 Huntsman Composites is formed via the merger of Huntsman Direct and Synthetic Resins, to supply the whole Composites Industry.
- Jan. 2007 Nuplex acquire all the Composites business assets of Huntsman Chemical Company Australia Pty Ltd and rename the business Nupol Composites
