In addition to our general reinforcements, Nupol Composites also offers a range of reinforcements for niche applications. This ensures we can supply the complete package for most composite fabrications. Our range includes:
- Surface Tissue
Surface tissue is a non-woven dispersed glass fibre. The glass fibres are bonded to one another by means of a binder compatible with polyester and epoxy resins.
Standard weight is 26g/m2. Available in rolls. - Nexus Tissue
* improved stress corrosion resistance
* better impact and reverse impact resistance
* greater chemical resistance (especially fluorides)
* higher winding efficiency and improved quality compared to C-glass veils because Nexus is not as brittle and has a higher tensile strength.
Standard weight is 40.07g/m2. Available in rolls. - Infusion Mats
A special reinforcement which typically consists of three layers stitched together. Two layers of chopped glass fibre mat on the surface and a porous elastic layer in the middle provides excellent resin flow properties and good surface quality. Binder free construction gives excellent drape-ability needed in complicated mould shapes. It is easy and quick to lay-up in the mould and wets out fast.
Available in a broad range of weights and construction.
Typical construction is 300/180/300 (300g/m2 CSM/180 g/m2 flow medium/300g/m2 CSM). We are able to include specialty fabrics for high performance laminates. - Cotton Flock
Cotton flock is a micro fine cotton chip which is used as a bulking filler and to enhance the impact strength of polyester and epoxy resins. - Milled Fibre
Used in automotive putties and bogs to provide reinforcement and increased strength. - Tapes
We stock a broad range of specialty fabric tapes and can slit to custom widths (minimum order quantities apply).
